Teching for both individuals and groups
One to one teaching in the studio or online
I have taught 1 to 1 for many years, and find that my pupils really enjoy the sessions. Sessions are relaxed and friendly and usually take place in my studio in East Sussex.
My lessons are very flexible, and respond directly to the individual needs of the learner at each particular session. I am able to use techniques and ideas from a variety of singing traditions, which correspond to the vocal task the learner is trying to perform, and which caters for the learning style of the pupil.
It is important that my clients feel comfortable and that they are in an environment where they feel safe to experiment and explore their voices. Most important of all, the sessions are FUN!
Groups and Workshops
Learning to sing in a group session can be a great way to build your confidence in your singing voice, gain confidence and to have fun!
A group session would usually start with a warm up – with the opportunity to introduce a bit a technique in a fun way without all the jargon! Then there would be some group exercises which focus on various areas of musicianship such as pitching, listening skills and rhythm.
The rest of the session would then be taken up with a singing task. This would give opportunities for solo singing (for those who want to!), harmonisation, and the development of a unique group arrangement of a well known piece! This can be very satisfying and can help develop confidence and pride in new found abilities.
I can provide group singing sessions for Dance, Drama or Theatre schools, workshops for music students at schools or colleges, or for Adult Education Classes.
